Light,
You are acting as if there has never been a person that you have atleast thought about saying to them what Eastwood humorously implied.
Christians are tempted, but we usually don't sin. Eastwood is not a Christian (as far as I know), but there are some experiences that are common to all humans, and I could understand exactly where Eastwood was coming from.
No one is perfect. Sometimes my thoughts have been gutter level. In the past, some of my actions have been below gutter level. I will freely admit that there are people in my life who I have thought that if I would say that to them, I would be
almost completely justified.
Most of the times, I didn't say it. I thought it, but I didn't say it. Even God understands the human emotion of anger.
If you have never wanted to say what Eastwood implied to another person, just keep living!
In an extended political season (3+ years) that has been so dirty and so personal for so long, Eastwood demonstrated how to respectfully disagree with an American President. He did so without disrespecting the man or his position. Eastwood did so without alienating the other half of his fellow countrymen who disagree with his opinions in part or in whole. He used humor and his presentation was a demonstration of his creative genious.
We need more Conservatives who can disagree with the President and communicate that disagreement without insulting the man, his accomplishments or his office.
Politically speaking, I found Eastwood refreshing. Presentation wise, I found Eastwood funny. I am glad Eastwood did what he did. If you believe I am wrong for my summations,
feel free to show me how and then pray for me.
