If my lady-love was on the table and a situation existed in which the doctor advised that she might want to consider an abortion as one of her options... I don't want a panel of doctors who don't know us making the decision. I don't want a court order to have to be issued to permit it. I don't want it becoming local news at 11 because it is an election year. I'd much rather that decision be a private one between me, her, and the LORD.

Choice places the full moral responsibility of such a decision firmly on the shoulders of the individual women who make that choice.

They are also typically for defunding public programs that provide coverage for medical care for those who are below poverty level. They advocate cutting food stamps and even abolishing the Department of Education.

In short... they want to force many women to have a child against their will... yet they don't want to assist that woman, or the child, in any way as it might relate to quality of life, health, food, or even education.

They care for you... only in utero. Once born... they'll leave you to rot in squalor.

Adulteresses and fornicators were to be stoned to death... without any consideration for the seed that might be presently conceived.

In addition... a woman suspected of adultery was to undergo a trial by ordeal in Numbers 5. If she was guilty her belly was to swell and her uterus drop (discharge). The enter point of the trial was to destroy any seed conceived in adultery.

When the water enters her body, it will cause bitter suffering if she is guilty.

25 “The priest will take the jealousy offering from the woman’s hand, lift it up before the Lord, and carry it to the altar. 26 He will take a handful of the flour as a token portion and burn it on the altar, and he will require the woman to drink the water. 27 If she has defiled herself by being unfaithful to her husband, the water that brings on the curse will cause bitter suffering. Her abdomen will swell and her womb will shrink,[d] and her name will become a curse among her people. 28 But if she has not defiled herself and is pure, then she will be unharmed and will still be able to have children.

29 “This is the ritual law for dealing with suspicion. If a woman goes astray and defiles herself while under her husband’s authority, 30 or if a man becomes jealous and is suspicious that his wife has been unfaithful, the husband must present his wife before the Lord, and the priest will apply this entire ritual law to her. 31 The husband will be innocent of any guilt in this matter, but his wife will be held accountable for her sin.”

I know these things are troubling... but they are indeed truth. Unborn seed was essentially the property of a woman's husband. If not his, it was not considered murder to destroy it, or her with it.

Consider this verse:

Exodus 21:22-24 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

22 When people who are fighting injure a pregnant woman so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no further harm follows, the one responsible shall be fined what the woman’s husband demands, paying as much as the judges determine. 23 If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

Consider that in ancient Israel a miscarriage typically always ended the life the miscarried child. However, depending upon what induced the miscarriage, a woman might suffer further harm from injury, blood loss, infection, etc. Here, rabbinical scholars tell us that if the unborn child of a woman is miscarried, men pay a fine in accordance to the husband's and the judge's decree. However, if any "mischief" follows, and the woman suffers harm, they are to pay "life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot." Rabbinical scholars emphasize that this text was used to preserve the value of the woman, not the unborn.

Aquila - you are so right. We would be much better off if the government would help to provide for all children, as soon as they are born. Each child should have a bank account that the government puts money in and the parent can take it and use to take care of the innocent little child.

Like various political alignments collaborating to grant $93 billion in corporate subsidies every year? When the corporate puppets cease giving billionaires welfare... you'll have my attention.

Keep in mind... the total bill for welfare is only $54 billion a year which includes food stamps, cash allotment, subsidized housing, etc.

And I have yet to bring up the $700 billion dollars in bailouts issued to Wall Street to keep them from going under after gambling and losing almost the entire economy like drunken sailors or shore leave.

We're talking nearly $100 billion every year, on top of the bailout money. That was tax payer dollars. Corporate America owes us for bailing their sorry shorts out of the hole they dug themselves into.

Actually, the government could issue an FDIC insured account wherein a tax credit is deposited. This could accrue interest and be used later for college or to purchase a home. But that is a different story.

What I'm talking about is what I've personally seen while in Canada with family and what we've seen while in Amsterdam. What my fiancé can tell you about after living in Ely (UK) for four years. It is possible if idiots cease pandering to billionaires and acting like pistol whipped lap dogs. lol
