Way back in the 70's
I had a Mercedes Benz 220 Diesel and while
I was preaching for Bishop H B Morgan in the
Morrow Georgia Church I left the car lights on.
After that night's service was over my battery
was not only backslid, it was plain D E A D --

I believed that my car could easily be started
if it was pushed off because it had a 4 speed
manual transmission.

I told Bro Morgan if I put my car in second gear
and kept the clutch depressed while he took his
car and pushed me up to about 20 MPH my car
wouls easily start.

I also informed him that I would signal him to quickly
stop by waving my arm out of my drivers window.
He was to stop and then I would Quickly release
my clutch and my car would stsrt.

Now The Rest Of The Story ;

The BUMPers matched -
As he eased the front BUMPer
of his Lincoln
up to the rear BUMPer
of my Mercedes Benz Diesel
the BUMPers really did match
perfectly

BUT
When Bro Morgan
began to push me with his Lincoln,
His His Front BUMPer
Raised Up
and my Rear BUMPer
Went Down

While he was pushing my car
across that parking lot
IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH
I was Frantickly Waving My Arm Out Of My Window
Not Knowing That Our BUMPers Were Locked -

{ His Front BUMPer Was Under My Rear BUMPer }

THEN FIVE { 5 } THINGS QUICKLY HAPPENED

# 1 - The Mercedes and Lincoln BUMPers Were
Locked Together -

# 2 - Bro Morgan Quickly Applied His Brakes
-----------> And His Front BUMPer Went Down -

# 3 - I Quickly Released My Clutch
-----------> And My Rear Bumper Went Up -

# 4 - Bro Morgan's Lincoln Stopped -

# 5 - My Mercedes Diesel Started -

When the diesel smoke cleared up
we drove both of the cars
to the Restaurant

With My Rear BUMPer
Hanging
Halfway Out Of The Trunk
Of The Mercedes -

And
That My Friends
Is My Own
BUMPer Story
And
I Am BUMPing To It-
