This is quite arrogant regardless of your position on the issue. Just sayin'

From my perspective, the "arrogant" one's are those who have the audacity to claim that "not with gold jewelry, pearls, or costly apparel" does not mean what it clearly instructs! To me...THIS is the height of pomp & gives more credence to human reasoning than the Word of God, which is blatant humanism...which is precisely why I respond the way I do [some can dish it out, but....]. Their doctrines are destructive to the faith, as opposed to constructive to the faith & I'll continue to teach against liberalisms which "make the Word of God of no effect."
In fact, just last night I taught the home church on the anti-jewelry mssg. using Mike's arguments...& they readily saw the error in his teachings....esp. from Ezek. 16 [metaphorical] vs. Is. 3 [literal]. A new comer told my wife afterwards that she was going straight home to get rid of all of her jewelry! Thank God for honest hearts...which is a rarity around here!

Re: Isaiah 3 and jewelry...
Wow, did she clean out her closets of costly array? Sometimes costly means that it is well made and lasts longer. So in the long run, not so costly.

Poor woman. You convinced her that jewelry is a sin.

Why would he appear in a vision wearing sinful gold???

He explains it in post 1194. Guy needs to be a theologian.
