He was most likely right if he and you were taught to write notes and out line your sermons on one subject like man teaches instead of letting the Holy Ghost speak.
My wonderful pastor, now gone on to his reward told us the story of a young man telling him he didn't write sermon notes, that he heard from God instead.
My very kind, and very wise pastor said "God speaks to me too, I just write down what he said"

Hey! I get it! I really get it! Those carnal guys that wrote the Bible for us just wasted alot of time and parchment. Didn't they know the Holy Ghost could just speak to us and tell us all that we needed to know! Bunch of carnal sinners. I can't believe I have spent so much time studying what they wrote. I should have just let the Holy Ghost speak.

A pastor told me about a young man that started going to his church years ago. Of couse this young man felt a call to preach, but the pastor said he didn't know anything about the bible. He couldn't answer even simple questions. So the pastor asked how in the world he could preach like that? The young man said I just open my mouth and let her fly.
Later the young man came back to the pastor and said alright I have a question for you. Who was Isack? Isack? I don't think I know. The young man said it was a women in the bible because it says that Isack begat so and so.
