Hoover and Aglin you both have nice looking families. Hoover though I do not envy you at all. You can have all those girls. I wanted one, didn't get her. THANK GOD. Now that my boys are older I am thankful none of them were girls, I would have gone INSANE.

Oh, sorry, I already am insane. I would have been MORE insane.

Hey Bro, you're in for a rude awakening.

Boys leave. Girls normally don't.

With all those boys, you only have to worry about those daddies with shotguns.

Is that what they call a military wedding?

Bro. Anglin,

I am sure there are exceptions, but I "stayed" with my late father as long
as he lived. I had just had my 50th birthday when he went to be with the
Lord. That was 19 yrs. ago.

Let me explain what I mean by "staying" with my father. He and Mom found-
ed a work for God in 1958. Jesus Name Pentecostal Mission. They had their
11th child in Feb. before the doors opened on Nov. 12, 1958. My Dad was
forty yrs. old. I had just turned 19 yrs old. I had graduated from high school
in May 1957, took some refresher courses at a business college in Dallas and
started working and helping my parents with my younger siblings. I received
the Holy Ghost the summer of '58, a few months before the Mission opened.
Met my husband to be and married in July 59. We remained in my hometown
and began to raise our family right alongside my parents, helping with the
mission. Our three sons and three daughters were raised up alongside my
younger siblings. We all remain very close today.

Fast forward to Nov. 2008, 50 yrs later. We recently celebrated the 50th
Anniversary of the church that began as a small storefront Mission in 1958.
When the Mission began, there was no one else to do the secretarial work,
so I was chosen. Nov. 2008, I was honored for having served 50 yrs. as
church secretary from the beginning. Working closely with my father and
mother all those years, I learned so much about a lot of things in life. As I
helped my mother in nurturing my younger siblings, I learned early how to
take care of my children. Mom's hands were so full with her children, I also
helped mother and nurture the new converts that came to the mission. I
thank God HE planted me alongside my parents in the work of the Lord
in our city.
My husband and I stayed right where the Lord planted us almost
50 yrs. ago. Those roots have grown downward and outward and go very
deep. Three generations of our own family worship each week with us in
the church that began as a small storefront mission 50 yrs. ago.

Yes, Bro. Anglin, there are exceptions, but this is one daughter that did
did not leave and I am SO thankful my husband and I stayed. He has
told me through the years, (seeing all of our children and grandchildren
(20) in the church), "I am SO glad we STAYED!!".

Blessings,

Falla39

Come, Thou long expected Jesus, born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us, let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel’s strength and consolation, Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear desire of every nation, Joy of every longing heart.
—Charles Wesley, 1744

When I read this I thought of this thread.

...
.
Some of the old time hymns sure had some great words, didn't they?
But, our modern song, Mary Did You Know? is a great one too.
