I'm with you on this one, Randy. In fact, I hadn't gone to a dentist since the 6th grade until after Walt and I were married. I was about 32 by that time. That poor dentist walked in my room with a cheery greeting and introduced himself. That's when I told him, "You need to know right off the bat that I hate dentists. Therefore I already hate you."
Bless his heart, Doc H is so good. He has completely changed my mind about going to the dentist. Of course one thing that has made a big difference for me is that Doc is sooooooo good about giving me the laughing gas. When I go to get my teeth cleaned now, they hook me right up to gas. Yep! Going to the dentist is fun now. LOL

I always hook the gas up for cleanings.... so much so I puked up breakfast once!

I only use the gas for root canals and major dental work. Tooth cleanings are nothing to me.

Hmmm. I need to remember that whenever I go to the dentist next. I did not realize that they can give you gas. I dislike dentists just a little less than MDs and their staff.
Do you need assistance once they disconnect you from your drugs?

nope, Jay. Once they turn the gas off, it's only a matter of a few minutes and then it's all out of your system and you are free to drive whenever and wherever you want.
Matt, if I were you, I'd definitely look for a different dentist. If you can't find a good one, come on to NW Ohio and I'll hook you up with mine.
