I guess there will always be "haters", even in the church. I thank God for Lee Stoneking's ministry.

LS doesn't need me or anyone to defend him, so I wont even try to.

I'll say however, that in his 30+ years of ministry he's been mightily used by God, had tens of thousands of people filled with the Holy Ghost under his ministry, and has influenced legions of saints and preachers to dig deeper into the things of God and to seek to be used of God.

I'm not going to act as if this man is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but keep this in mind: Since LS started preaching, there have been many thousands of other ministers and evangelists who have risen up within the UPC, but few have achieve his stature. Why? You don't rise to the level and stature that he has among UPC preachers just by accident. Clearly God is blessing him; clearly the man is doing something right. You cant just describe it as being a bunch of overzealous fans building a cult of personality around a shallow/overrated preacher, as some seem to be implying.

I've heard him preach many times in person and on tape, and his preaching has made an indelible impact on my walk with God as well as many others. I find it amusing to hear people say his preaching has little or no substance.

And regarding the naysayers and critics... how many tens of thousands of lives have they influenced for the kingdom of God?

I stayed up from my night shift job to go this am.
He should have been doing this years ago.

My goal is not to influence but to convert.

Well thats what an evangelist does, isnt it?

They convert sinners and influence saints.

Besides, many people have been converted under LS's ministry. So what's your point there exactly?

I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?

Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

He has never caused me to go deeper into the word.

He was always a boring preacher to me.

That is only my opinion.

Sort of the Brett Favre of preachers?
(The stats are amazing..... 'Since 1992, the number of starting quarterbacks for Green Bay: 1. The number of starting quarterbacks for every other team: 12+'.)
