I believe this is part of Zak's problem, however, if he won't apply himself, they can't do anything else with him. There just aren't enough people to make it possible.

Wonderful! I'm glad you are proactive about her well-being. Many parent's either ignore it, place them on meds to make their (the parent's) lives easier, or just think the kid is bad seed.

Patience is a good thing to have. Zak still isn't able to do more than one thing at a time and I have to be constantly repetitive. I'm used to it, but others get frustrated with him easily.

While feeling very far from being perfect parents we do love are kids to bits.
When Allana was five I spent two days in the hospital sleeping by her bedside when she was hospitalised due to Pneumonia.

Patience isn't a strong point for me-I am learning it.
Surprisingly, I can be patient with genuine needs, I just get impatient with those who really have no excuse.
Of course I have no excuse to be impatient at all, but God is working on it.
Believe me he's working on it!

I have problems with comprehension and it drives people nuts. Here on the list, I can read things over before I respond. However, I almost always ask people to repeat what they said both because I don't hear it (they say my hearing is fine) and don't understand it. This is interesting to me. Whenever someone tries to tell me directions to do something, I say "Write it down". Hmm.....maybe I learned something about myself here. I don't think it has anything to do with impatience. Once I understand something though, I often have a better grasp of it than most people. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Believe me I have had my hard knocks and most of them were issues from losing my dad at age 4 and having an alcoholic mother who I lost at 18.

It certainly hasn't been handed to me on a platter and perhaps I got the Valeditorian job cuz no one else wanted it.
