If one is self-loathing I would not consider that one is restored.
Restore to their position in ministry not necessarily mentally. The devil can sure play mind games with forgiven folks who don't seem to forgive themselves.

I think that is the problem, perhaps they have been restored to the ministry instead of to the body.

Yes, and it should. We should be heartbroken over anyone who falls. But, lovingly pray for them to be restored to God. And not want to discuss others faults, when we are subject to fall ourselves.

No one, preacher, saint, whoever, will be forgiven if they do not forgive and will lack mercy if they do not extend mercy! And that's in the Red Letters.
