If the people are "malnourished" as you said, and have nothing to contribute to the meeting, then it most certainly IS their fault.
1. It's their fault for not allowing the Spirit to minister through them. That doesn't require "a church full of teachers" like you think, it requires having the Holy Ghost and desiring to be used of God. It requires a prayer life.
2. It's their fault they don't study and read their own Bibles. Brother Fudd isn't expected to expound on the finer points of types and shadows found in obscure verses of 2 Chronicles, but he sure oughta be able to testify to the grace of God moving in his life the past week and how he discovered something in the Word that came to pass in his experience. If not he needs to get saved.
3. If church leadership has everything locked down where nobody can testify or be used by God then it's their fault for not leaving that apostate religious social club run by the man of sin and finding another assembly that is actually trying to follow God. And if there are none available? That didn't stop Abel, Seth, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and others from living for and serving the true and living God.
So, yeah, if they have nothing to contribute, it's their fault.

Re: Do you have a pastor?
We don't at the moment, we just stopped going to our church. Pray for us as we journey to the next step.

Keeping you both in prayer in Jesus name

To sum it up. Lost confidence in leadership and the state or culture of the assembly.
