There is nothing wrong with posting on an old thread if you want to. You can tell how old a thread is by the date of the last post on it. Also what page number is it on in the area it is in. They are listed with the most recent activity first. So if you end up on page 153 of the Fellowship Hall chances are that thread is going to be pretty old!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Its a good thing. If long hair is a womans glory why put it up in a bun? Its far more glorious hanging straight down.

It can get in the way and also become tangled if it is windy. Just a matter of practicality. Most UPC girls, when wearing it up don't put it in a classic bun. Totally outdated.

I totally agree. We don't hide the glory God gave us. I've had some wonderful ladies tell me that they don't want to wear theirs down pretty and curly because it would be vanity. But I think that's in your heart. Seems to me God already addressed the vanity issue when he said we weren't supposed to weave pearls and such through it.

I think there are two good reasons for wearing it down when possible or convenient.
* It teaches long uncut hair by example
* old fashioned hairdos make ladies look frumpy
