The part i've bolded is so true, it's what made me finally give up in disgust too. The part I'm struggling with is having been taught that baptism is for remission of sins, I can't get past that. I will tell you though that the hatefull exclusion of other Christians by those who make it seemingly impossible to ever be good enough to be saved will drive me to the camp of the saved at repentance bunch just because they are more compassionate and loving.

What appears to be compassionate and loving is the opposite when they are deceiving folks. Love is telling folks the truth even when it is not popular. A Doctor who would not tell a patient the seriousness of their terminal condition then prescribe an asprin for cancer is not a loving person but a deluded person.

IMO Paula White is a celebrity. And she lives that life style. And nobody can singly pastor mega churches, TD Jakes, Paula White, etc. Y'all know I try to be kind about everyone, but it makes me angry when people are like groupies after the next celebrity in the church.

Cindy, You are quite correct. All of them have groupies and goofy ones at that! LOL The "celebrity" preachers laugh about it like we do but can hardly do anything about it - people just like to be around these big preachers and rub shoulders with them. It is the same in the UPC and other movements. I remember when Lee Stoneking or Jack Cunningham would come in - they had their groupies just like all the others.

and I remember how people followed Lee Stoneking and Richard Heard, who sometimes preached very sensational messages.

Can you tell me where in the Bible, the Apostle Paul (writer of over 2/3rds of the NT) preached water baptism and how many people he baptized?

Bishop, I guess the most obvious example of Paul affirming Apostolic doctrine is in Acts 19:1-6. I know you are familiar with this passage. To me it reads very easy and it's not hard to follow the narrative here. If believing is all it takes and if baptism doesn't really matter, why would he have been so passionate about his instructions to them.
I am aware that I am not telling you anything you haven't seen before. When we start using scripture to justify our feelings and beliefs instead of vice versa, that's when we fall in the ditch.

I wasn't really referencing you, Amanah. But it's telling when an unsaved person says that Pamela Anderson was dressed more modestly than Paula White, at an event PW preached. I am not using their exact words of course. They put it in some blunt language.
