They weren't the same as what the virgins wore.

The hosen (German) the trousers (French) were part of Joseph's attire. You said you lurked while we were having this discussion and therefore you must of already read my discussion on this point.

The lurking part is true hence my statement about no need to rehash your points. They are well researched and thought out.

Explain to me your view of girding up your loins in the Book of Exodus with regard to the Passover. The way I read it its a blanket commandment for Men, Women and children. That leads me to believe the attire was similar.

You can answer it yourself.

If it was a blanket statement for all genders, and ages.

Then why is there a phrase to "gird like a man"

We again see this in Revelation 9:8 where we are told the locust had hair LIKE women. Which mean it is being pointed out to specifically see the symbol of gender. Like what was a phrase when men still wore pants only. We can see she wears the pants in the family. Gird is a belt, but this belt when gridded tightly held something together and up. belts are belts, rope, or leather. But the phrase is still gender specific which meant only men were capable of achieving this.

Tunicum polymitam is the Latin for tunic coat of different colors. It's etymology is semitic, and comes from Aramaic כֻּתֹּ֫נֶת which incorporated the trousers. The outer coat went far past the knees.

Re: More on Skirts

It doesn't matter. The conservatives on this issue treat their "abomination" the way most of us on the moderate side treat Christian modesty. Both sides see it as a Christian discipline one grows into. So, it's a non-issue.

The only difference is that the conservatives like to use the word "abomination". But in practice they advocate as much patience, understanding, and grace towards what they believe to be an "abomination" as we moderates do when approaching it as a "Christian discipline of modesty".

Tunicum polymitam? My mom used to make them, on toasted bread, lots of garlic and salt and pepper, with mayonaise (Helman's only, of course). It was the only way i could eat tuna, otherwise I'd be gagging.
