Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?

Seems like when when you get in a corner you use the bad translation theory. If king James version is not for you then write your own Bible everyone is doing it these days.
The issue of braided hair would correctly be discussed on the standards thread.I also had a Great Grand mother who was a woman preacher,it does not change the Word of god.

Zodhaites: authentéō contracted authentṓ; fut. authentḗsō, from authéntēs (n.f.), murderer, absolute master, which is from autós (G846), himself, and éntea (n.f.) arms, armor. A self-appointed killer with one's own hand, one acting by his own authority or power. Governing a gen., to use or exercise authority or power over as an autocrat, to domineer (1Ti_2:12). See anḗr (G435, XI, C), husband.

Preaching God's word is not taking dominion or authority OVER anyone.

The bible is the authority. Someone preaching what the bible says is not "taking authority".

So the word there does not mean "to preach".
How many time is the Word of God referred to as a sword?
When you draw that sword on someone you are attempting to take authority.

"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (Genesis 1:28)

For about the 501th time now, So what? You said she is to remain silent! What is prophecy? It's an anointed utterance given to someone by God. Good grief, what is your problem?
Big Yawwwwn, but let's try it anyway! O', before I begin, I loooooooove the way you entirely ignored I Tim. 2:11-15 !

Now, to deal w/ I Cor. 14 [for about the 502nd time now]: However one may interpret the instructions [& there are several interpretations]: 'Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but are commanded to be under obedience, as saith the Law. For it is a shame for a woman to speak.' [Paraphrasing from memory?]. Regardless how you attempt to explain these NT instructions to the church, does this sound at all like God approves "women preacher's" in the NT church economy??????

You have GOT to be outright dishonest if you answer in the affirmative! And I'm the one w/ the "problem" ?? Hmm, I've apparently got enough brains to read & believe the Bible!

O & lest I forget, let's say that a man got up to preach & was acting very feminine in his demeanor. Very prissified, soft-acting, etc. Are you telling us you wouldn't have a problem w/ it?? Of course, coming from someone who cannot even comprehend "I do not allow a woman to teach...", why should I be surprised either way???? Try again Prax!

Nice fallacy of equivocation! Prophesying is an entirely different context than I Tim. 2:11-15 [which I'm still waiting on you to explain (& I don't mean 'away' either!)]. But, tell us Prax, is all prophesying "preaching"???
