I do so feel for those hurt ball players, as my husband had a bad knee injury playing high school ball. One of my sons had to be hosptialized at an away game. His muscles were contracting very badly including is heart. He had 2% body fat. Thankfully he was like 2 miles away from a hospital.
My husband had 2 surgeries and ended up with nerve damage and still suffers from it.
