I grew up in the Catholic Church, so yes we thought it was more modest, until we had to ride horses. lol I think when I got in church I was aware of Deut 22:5. I just wondered if the Word was so adamant about the man not dressing like a woman, it spoke to me of personal issues of the heart and so I couldn't reconcile the women and pants thing as being a normal directive. I thought she had to have personal heart issues as well.

But, I will be honest, I don't like pants, never have liked them and I don't think they are feminine. I've never seen any that were and that's just my opinion.

A very good friend of mine invited us to the party.

Our intent was simply to state that we believe the UPC needs to stay a holiness movement. This accusation of power, fame and money hunger is unfounded.

I just wanted to post my awareness of our condemnation. I don't expect this site to like our website. I don't expect you to respect us on any level.

Our intent is for the UPC to remain an organization made of Churches and Ministry that maintains our traditional holiness stands.

Of course that makes us mean, evil, tyrants.

And of course that is what it has to be.

Why would anyone stay in the UPC if they so hate, defame and denigrate the very essense of what the UPC is.

In addition, these things are your Mothers, Grandmothers, and the very image of people who have done so many wonderful things.

Thanks Ed. Thanks AFF for being true to yourselves.

There are too many things to address in just one post, but I will try to get to the point as quickly as possible.

Scott, YES, I am a card carrying member of the UPC and, as such, I have the right to speak against wedeclare.org. In fact, I will make the case that your published positions listed on wedeclare.org disqualify you from membership in the United Pentecostal Church International.

Let me be clear.

I am the one defending the Manual here. And I am the one asking for a return to "The Old Paths" that our forefathers blazed decades ago.

You, and your cohorts, are advocating a rewrite of the Manual that is both shocking and frightening in its scope.

On one hand, you ask for men to SOME of the tenants of our basic holiness position and on the other you throw several of our traditions under the bus, and ask for tolerance.

So, again, let me be clear, Scott.

On this issue, YOU are the liberal.

Further, Scott, you make the mistake of believing that I am liberal simply because I disagree with your wacky, warped, malignant ideas that spread cancer throughout the fellowship I love.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Here's the truth, Bubba; I actually READ the Manual, and the Affirmation Statement. I know what it says.

YOU obviously do not.

Otherwise you would not push for tolerance in the area of media, jewelry, and organized sports. Your push for tolerance puts you at odds with the very document you say you wish to protect. In fact, you are advocating a leniency that I have never pushed for.

Re: My Name is on www.wedeclare.org

Scott, I truly do believe that wedeclare.org exists to promote certain ministries. One need look no further than your opening post on this thread to see how it works.

1. You make false, baseless assertions about me and my AFF friends and infer that they are "swine."

2. You set yourself up as a martyr for holiness.

3. You challenge everyone who doesn't sign your document, and accuse your detractors of a lack of holiness, while suggesting they need to leave the UPC.

Look, I've seen this same tactic used over and over and over. The summary is this.

Wedeclare.org exists to label, maim and marginalize anyone who doesn't sign and/or disagrees with the content. This INCLUDES UPCI men who are in complete compliance with the Holiness Positions of the organization such as myself.

Re: My Name is on www.wedeclare.org

And it's ironic and sick that this type of behavior is lauded from some corners of the movement.

I think you, and some of the founders of wedeclare.org, bank on that affirmation.

Spilling the allegorical blood of your brothers qualifies you as "conservative."

And, I've seen enough proof that some of the founders don't even believe what they signed on wedeclare.org. They rail against shorts and then post pics of their teenage kids in shorts.

How dumb is that?

They rail about defending the Manual and then shred the parts of the holiness article they don't agree with.

Me a liberal? Dude, get a mirror.

Who has done this? Honestly?

Why do you stay in the UPC when you obviously don't think it's wrong for a preacher to have a TV, that only EXCESSIVE jewelry is wrong and that going to the movies is perfectly acceptable?

See how that works, Scott?

If you want everyone out that doesn't "line up" to the traditions of the org, you'd better start packing your bags.
