This is true, Thad, but Jesus looked at the fig tree and saw leaves. From a distance it looked like it was a healthy tree, but it was not.

He didn't curse the tree because He was hungry...he could have called for figs to drop out of the sky.

He cursed the tree because it gave an impression it could not live up to.

That's why the heart is the measure for holiness. When the heart is right, the outward will not be in question.

I agree, but why does this topic upset you so when you believe in the standards yourself ?? OR do you just abide by them because of the church you attend ???

that sure was mean-spirited to say all the women on my list look like a bunch of Quakers. I've not seen one look like a Quaker woman no more than the men look like the man on the front of the Oat Meal box

Not true Thad, I know of eight Amish here in my area who talked in tongues. They've have attended our home church and have received the Holy Ghost! And yes they are still Amish~
