Thad, that is true. did you know there is a massive militant population of Muslims in Bolivia South America? they want distroy America and they are in our back yard with easy access across the mexican boarder.

before we even begin to think of dealing with immigration reform, we have to close the southern boarder. when we know we can stop those that arent here yet, then we can decide what to do with those that are already here.

Sorry to call a spade a spade ... the movement you support has always been led by many bigots ... you can make this a logical argument ... but history is a marker .... of the xenophobic movement that has been pervasive throughout the history of immigration ... no amount of verbosity can white wash this fact.

Yes but wasn't it really made for slaves originally? BTW The Civl War was so we can have a 14th amendment?

WHo said I supported a movement? I am independent of any movement. I have an opinion and Dan, you have slanders. Sad...sad that you would avoid a logical argument and appeal to facts and intelligent dialogue and rather resort to pejorative and emotive arguments...and name calling


BTW you said immigration. That is another logical fallacy you keep resorting to. The issue is ILLEGAL immigration. See legal immigration is measured and regulated and the USA is the most immigration friendly nation around. But ILLEGAL immigration is not regulated..it's illegal. We are discussing ILLEGAL immigration

BTW what do you think of a proposal to allow filipinos to come here illegally and start working rather than waiting to emigrate here legally? Do you think that is a good idea? What if 50% of the illegal immigration came from the Phillipines or Russia or Nigeria? Is that cool?

My daughter flew into JFK from Italy yesterday. I signed on the internet today and read that. I thanked God one more time that she got home safe before another stupid terrorist act happened.

During the height of the golden age of immigration people came here primarily from Ellis and Angel Island but were flooding in from our borders also... the only requirement was to be healthy .... let's not act like we've done this according to protocol .... our very Congress passed quota laws during this era against Chinese immigrants just because they were Chinese ....

We have a problem ... that is decades old ... it's not Bush's fault, Clinton's fault .... etc .... We as a nation failed .... but it makes you wonder why???

We have benifited off the backs of cheap illegal aliens ... all of us ...

Most of the posters here have benefited either directly or indirectly from their cheap services ... ranging from cheap landscaping to construction ....

We are all to blame ...

Now we have a dilemma ... we must secure our borders ... and at the same time legalize those that are here .... are deport them ....

We as a nation have decided that a mass deportation is not what we want ... even though there are marginal voices that would love to see this... since THEY FEAR A TAKEOVER ... OR INVASION ....

We will as a nation deal w/ this responsibly and humanely ... there will be no free and unconditional amnesty ... but there will be a compromised reached ... there will be strictures in place ... it can be legislated so that it applies to certain types of people ... we did this in the 80's .... and it can be improved upon

and God willing our both of our borders will be protected the way they should've been decades ago ...

Lastly, it is presumptuous and insulting for those that insist that once legalized an entire hard-working and industrious workforce would stop ... to get on a bread line or seek a handout.
