When they were doing some of the skiing at breakneck speeds, I asked him if he would be afraid to do that. He said, "It does look scary. I'd rather do something safe, like ride bulls."

By the numbers:

Largest margin of victory in men's Olympic hockey history. In 1924 Canada defeated Switzerland 33-0 in the most lopsided match all-time.

Medals won by Germany at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games - the record for most medals won by a nation at a single Olympic Winter Games.

The US will come close to beating this number at these games.

The number of IOC votes that awarded Vancouver the opportunity to host the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. PyeongChang, South Korea finished second with 53 votes.

4 more votes & we would not be having this conversation.

Re: 2010 Winter Olympics

It's really nice that Canada won the gold in women's hockey. I think the cigars and beer (whatever they were drinking) should have been done in the locker room. Having said that I don't think that this is a big enough issue that the IOC needs to get involved. They can be talked to about that quietly, no need for an investigation. What the IOC needs to do is tell that sore loser Plushenko to stop all his non-sense and insults of other Olympians. He sure needs a good stern talking to. Also, that Russian bobsledder that was filled with glee when the Canadian bobsled flipped over; that is until he figured out that he was on television. Overall Russia's attitude has not been in the spirit of the Olympics.
