So what happens when you put someone on "ignore"? Do you not see what they post?

Just be thankful, though, that your posts have not been separated in 78 pieces and psycho-analyzed complete with personal insults questioning your intelligence.

And Coadie, dude.....the footnote insult was kinda pathetic. It's exactly the kind of thing that amazes me about this forum. The personal put-downs...insults on a CHRISTIAN (meaning Christ-like) forum? Wow.

You can see that the person posted something, but you can't see the post. So you don't have to wade through their nonsense to get to the stuff you really want to read.

For people who think that psychiatry is such a bad thing, they certainly feel qualified to "psychoanalyze" and criticize and rip a person's heart out, stomp on it, chew it up and spit it out and misinterpret a person's motives, etc. etc.

Sad..

Linking Mind and Brain in the Study of Mental Illnesses: A Project for a Scientific Psychopathology
Nancy C. Andreasen

Brain research on mental illnesses has made substantial advances in recent years, supported by conceptual and technological developments in cognitive neuroscience. Brain-based cognitive models of illnesses such as schizophrenia and depression have been tested with a variety of techniques, including the lesion method, tract tracing, neuroimaging, animal modeling, single-cell recording, electrophysiology, neuropsychology, and experimental cognitive psychology. A relatively sophisticated picture is emerging that conceptualizes mental illnesses as disorders of mind arising in the brain. Convergent data using multiple neuroscience techniques indicate that the neural mechanisms of mental illnesses can be understood as dysfunctions in specific neural circuits and that their functions and dysfunctions can be influenced or altered by a variety of cognitive and pharmacological factors.

Psychoanalysis is not coupled with Psychiatry. It is coupled with freudian psychology. The modality is introspection. Although long ago it was recommend one have A medical degree to enter a psychoanalytic institute.
Psychology, Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis have different roots. Thought I would clear that up.

We need to delve into the subconscious to examine what triggered that drama outburst.

Psychoanalysis takes years. It entails a relationship which creates transference. Many of us are familiar with the works of Jung.

Jung referred to this collective unconscious which is considered to be present in all people, but is different from Freud's in that it is not created by repression. Freudian psychoanalysis is to open repressed memories. Erikson offered 7 developmental stages and refinded freuds work.

the point I am getting to it seems you are using an urban legend style of definition of the word Psychoanalyze.

I have never put anybody on ignore and not because I am an admin that needs to see everything posted when possible.

I don't see how you can keep track of the flow of the conversation / discussion if you have blocked out certain peoples posts no matter how asinine they might be.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

That is just the abstract. What did you find interesting in the research report?

CC1, when a poster insists on engaging in personal attacks instead of addressing the issue, I will not allow that person to distract me.

I will not put any evil thing before my eyes; I am against all turning to one side; I will not have it near me.

Douay-Rheims Bible
