Especially when ministry drives nice cars, live in super good homes and wear very nice clothes and the people that support them are struggling to make ends meet. I would mostly think that it is a business and the bosses are crimping on the benefit packages so they'll get a better bonus! IMO you see!

So then......ministerial incomes are UP, because tithing is UP, because guilt is UP!
But then, because guilt is UP, eventually attendance goes DOWN! Hmmmmm.

It is about $$$$, franchises, politics, turf, power, control, manipulation and all the other synonyms that God hates. I am not saying that everyone in it is lost but I came out of Babylon a long time ago. I am not sayng that God can't do some works in those churches, but I am thankful that I am not attending a UPCI congregation and am thankful for my family who left. This was well before Resolution #4. Anyone who thinks it is about souls more than franchises has not witnessed what I have witnessed. There ought to be internal ethics review somehow. People in upper positions do not seem to be accountable to any other person. They are accountable to God. Your experiences may be very different. I can only report on what I have witnessed.

I think the posts so far have pointed out something of a dichotomy that exists. The "big shots" at WEC don't pull down huge salaries, certainly not compared to other men in that kind of a position. The upper echelons of the structure appear to exist to "minister" to the rest of the structure.
It's when you get down to the district level that you see personal fiefdoms carved out and franchises being awarded. It's not that way everywhere, and competition is keen. But there is a definite commercial enterprise at work on the local level.
Kind of like an Amway, but without the soap.

But not everybody lives at WEC. They live at the district level. And it looks like the fiefdom needs a cleaning updom!
