be assured that I am also praying for you and your family and for your dad as you have to make this very difficult decision. I join you in asking for God's will to be done.
I am sure this has been a very difficult decision for you and I am praying for you and your family for the peace of God to comfort you tonight.

Adequate words never seem to come at a time like this, but God knows just what it is that you need and how to do it. May God grant you comfort and rest at a time when life is so emotional and tragic.
Some of you know that I'm not exactly close to my dad or his side of the family at all... however a few minutes ago I got a call from my sister.
She said that my Aunt, my dad's sister, called her to tell her he's in a hospital in Columbus, OH, on a breathing machine, unconscious.
His lungs are riddled with blood clots. In addition, they want us, his children, to give our decision whether to resucitate or not.
I won't tell you what my decision was because I really don't want this thread to become a debate over it.
I'm simply asking you to pray that God's will be done in my dad's life.
Ron, I just wanted to comment on that statement above.
Whatever decision you made is the right one. There is no debate to be had (although I know some might make one out of it).
I deal with these decisions often. Even if I would have made a different decision, there is no wrong decision in these matters, just a difference of opinion, so to speak. It's akin to asking people what they think about eating spaghetti. Some think it's delicious and some think it's gross, but both groups are correct.....if that makes sense.
Anyway, regardless of your decision, I'd say you made the right one. I hope all goes well and that amends are able to be made. I'm praying for you.

I've gone and done it now! I'm on Facebook!!!
He said dad is doing a little better. He's needing less O2 than yesterday or the day before, so to them, that's a good sign of recovery.
He said dad's still got a long way to go, but it looks promising.
He's sedated still though, due to the tube in his lungs.
My friend Mike moved up to the Columbus area a few months ago to take a Youth Pastor's position. I called him today to see if he'd be ok with swinging by to check in on my dad and his mom and sister. He just called me a little while ago to say he went but they had the room closed because my aunt was sleeping. He said he'd swing by on his lunch hour tomorrow.

I'm blessed to have good friends.
Please continue to pray as you think about it.
Ron,
I am glad for the good report. I know you wil feel better once your friend checks it out for himself and reports back to you.
