It is a good thing that protecting your beautiful daughters is at the forefront of your priorities. As well it should be.

TV v. Internet - I think in less than a decade this will be a moot issue and, given the current use of technology, already is.

That is why people need to be taught the principles, not a list of rules. It's going to become an affair of the heart to consciously decide to NOT watch the TV show being displayed on the bus beside you in traffic. We will see a great shaking, and those with a rule-based religion are in for a serious struggle.

People need a personal relationship with God, and they need to hear that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. People need to be taught about the ulterior motives behind much of the content on both the internet and television. And last but certainly not least people need to have so much God in their heart that they don't WANT to pour worldly pollutants into their hearts on top of Him.

1. Avertisements - there is now technology to cut out ALL the ads. It's simply not an issue anymore.

And this is beneficial to Christians because . . . . . . ?

2. Anti-Christ content The assault on traditional values and traditional families is everywhere - perhaps most predominately in your children texbooks!

Most kids' textbooks, yes. MY kids textbooks - NO. My wife, God bless her ever-loving heart, home-schools our children.

The same technology which prevents popups and porn in your e-mail is available to block all channels except the channels and shows you explicitly allow.

Growing up I had friends with cable. Their fathers had locks or blockers or some such on the adult channels, but we figured out how to watch them nevertheless.

Sorry I have not read The Marketing of Evil - is this author opposed to moving images only? Or is he against the same evil in other forms?

He explains in detail the people and the agenda behind the writing and producing, and he does address other forms.

OPC, we are much more alike than different. My wonderful wife homeschools as well.

This is so true, and I guess it already is and has been.

Growing up as a "horse and buggy" Mennonite we did not find porn on TV or the internet BUT WE DID FIND IT on occaision.

If only my father would have banned all books and magazines early on....
