Ultimately, we have to place our 100% trust in God, not flesh.
Flesh fails, God doesn't....
That's right! I put my trust in preachers and have been let down.... Now, my trust is in God and I realize the preachers are as human as I am... They are going to make mistakes just like I am....
In answer to the question, no, I do not trust someone just because he says he's a preacher.... but I have a loooooooong list of great men of God who have proven themselves to be true to God! I trust them.........but I don't put them on a pedestal......

I'm going to go against the grain and say yes. I DO automatically trust a minister.
There are certain expectations associated with the office that should draw us into a trusting relationship just as you would automatically trust a police officer, a judge, or a doctor.
With age comes wisdom and life experiences that NOW tell me, I can trust to a certain degree, but keep my eyes wide open.

No.

Preachers are people and they should earn trust like anyone else.
