Re: Falla's Gma, First to Obey Apostolic Message

Let me tell a little more about my little Grandmother, Lizzie Blakey.

As I mentioned before, she was the first of our family to hear and obey
the apostolic plan of salvation.
After God had healed her as she lay dying with typhoid fever in 1926 (I made an
error in the first post of saying it was in 1928), she was 28 yrs. old. My dad who
was 8 yrs. old witnessed the doctor telling his father,"Lizzie's dying! See the blue on
her feet and legs".
A few years later, the message of Acts 2 came to their small town and after search-
ing the scriptures to see if these things be so or not, she found them to be so, and
obeyed this message, along with her young son, my father.(14 yrs. old by now).

After God had healed Grandma, she continued with her young son, to read the Word
of God. Faith came by hearing and "eating" the Word of God.

During this time her young daughter became very ill with what they later decided was
appendecitis. It got to where she could hardly eat or drink and became very weak.

Grandma was desperately trying to trust God as she believed that healing was included
in the atonement. That Jesus suffered stripes for our healing and if we didn't avail our-
selves of it, He took them in vain.

It came to the place where her side turned dark and my grandfather, who was a self-
taught "vet" told her, "You've waited too late, gangrene has set in". The pastor's
mother had already come out to their farm and told her if the child died, it would bring
on a reproach to the church. Grandma said, No, Sis. Sally, "What brings a reproach on
the church is when the church preaches that God can heal but as soon as someone
gets sick, they run to the doctor". So I can imagine what Grandma was going through
with both the pastor's mother and now her husband saying it was too late. What was
a young mother who God had healed when she was yet a Methodist, to do.

Leaving her husband to watch their daughter (I think she was 8), Grandma went down
to a little persimmon thicket where she would go to get alone with God. She poured out
her heart to God, telling Him she had endeavored to trust Him and knew He could heal
her child, BUT, "nevertheless, YOUR WILL be done". She wept as she gave her child up
to God.(reminds me of Abraham and his son, Isaac). She arose and went to the house
to find the child sitting up in bed, asking for food and drink. She lived well past 70 yrs.

Many years later, as an adult, living in Garland, Tx, this daughter went to the doctor
for an unrelated situation. The physican who attended her, asked her who had done
her appendectomy. She told him the story. All he could say was "Incredible"!!!

Grandma trusted God all the remaining days of her life. She covered her family with
prayer. She "ate" the Word of God daily. I know I am a recipient of her prayers.

Blessings,

Falla39

The mother of 3 young children, a devout Methodist at the time, she humbly asked God if he would see fit to let her raise her 3 children. God answered that prayer and allowed Lizzie Blakey to see Falla's first grandson, the beginning of her 5th generation. God called her home in 1984, just 20 days before her 87th birthday. After God raised her up from death, she trusted Him all the days of her life. He never let her down, nor her family.

Lizzie and Robert have passed on, but the three remaining generations continue on at the church Robert and his wife, Audrey Blakey founded Nov. 1958. Almost 50 years ago.

Re: Falla's Gma, First to Obey Apostolic Message

What this thread is not about:

This thread is not to discount or reflect on anyone who goes to the doctor.

I thank God for the good things doctors have done to assist or aid in
the caring of some of my own family, children, grandchildren, siblings, etc.

Man is limited and can do what humanity can do. God is not limited and can
do what Deity can. Great things can happen when God works in and through
man to accomplish His Will and His Plan.

God, manifesting Himself through man accomplished the Salvation Plan. But
God must give the "Orders". Jesus told his disciples that he only said and did
what the Father (Spirit, Deity)said or did.
Oh, that sons would have that kind of reverence for their fathers today. And
fathers would set a godly example that sons could look up to them. This also
applies to mothers and daughters.

What this thread is about is some (partial) history of our family. Past!
History!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever.

Blessings,

Falla39

Brother, isn't she though! What a lady! Nancy means "Gracious, grace"

Elizabeth means "worshipper of God". Makes me wonder who really named

her!!

Love you, Brother!

something. She always called Ladd, her "dumpling".

Love you,

What can I say you've said it all. LOL

Yes! Nancy, Grandma Lizzie was very special. She told me about a vision she had about heaven, not long before she died. It was so precious I can't even talk about it. I know shes up there and I look forward to seeing her and all the others again.

Yes, Brother,

It will be glorious! A Glad Reunion Day! Sometimes I get to thinking about what it
will be like to all be together again and it seems almost too good to be true. It will
be heaven when "with all the holy angels and our loved ones to stay. That will be
a glad reunion day".

Love and blessings, Brother!

This is great Sis. Falla! What an awesome scene it is to see 5 generations of Apostolics serving the Lord! I hope and pray that I'll see mine as well!

...and I just might use that appendicitis testimony on my message this coming Sunday...
