Your post shakes me out of a complacency I can fall into (with many of my brethren). Some how there is this idea that not being subject to the law is a state of "lesser acountability".
Our HEART is the source of EVERY issue that we are expected to take before God. Our actions are only outcomes extending from the true motive center of each of us....the thoughts and intents of our hearts.
Temperance is established as a heart condition. It can not be humanly 'willed' or purposed into being. It is the manifestation of a life in Christ that is moving beyond milk, and going on to perfection.

unless it is your purposed counterbalance to an over-achieving morning, your compass is still not pointing to "temperate in all things"....just some spiffy footwork used to dance the afternoon away

I would think we are "more accountable".
