In those types of situations, the person receiving the house should not be able to borrow against it. Someone else maybe should hold the deed to the home. Its just a shame ,,,,
I agree that should be part of the deal-not being able to borrow against it.
Extreme Makeover Home Edition is my favorite TV show. A lot of times the children get free education, and some of the families get free vehicles. I really don't understand this at all. I guess I will have to watch the video to remember this family.

Wow...such a beautiful home....I bet they are feeling really horrible about now.
This kind of reminds me of the subprime industry....they loaned money to people with bad credit...at very high closing costs and interest rates. Because they hadn't corrected any of their bad habits...alot of them lost their homes recently. Some didn't even make their first payments.
It all comes down to what RCraig said...we need to be good stewards.

I agree 100%. There should be a trustee set up at a bank or something and they should not have the ability to do something like this for at least 10 years.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I bet this will be in place now.

I am not sure I see the connection to the subprime mess, but it is one thing for a family to bite off more then they can chew -and loose their home. It is quite another to be GIVEN a FREE home, and still lose it.
What it does remind me of, and is consistent with, are the great number of lotto/powerball winners who take home millions -only to declare BK within a couple of years!
