I wasn't in church 15 years ago.

However, I felt that way 25 years ago.

It's what my pastor taught.

He said he didn't need to show us where the Bible said it.

He was the pastor, and we were to take his word for it. Yes, he said this from the pulpit all the time.

Well, I didn't question. I took his word for everything.

About ten years ago, I found out he was wrong with many things he taught. I tried finding them in my Bible but couldn't. And believe me when I say I tried! See, people like how I am now tried telling me it wasn't there. I was out to prove them wrong.

I'm still trying to prove them wrong. I still can't find what I'm looking for.

He said it was in there. I can't find it.

Sounds like you need a heart to heart with him.

He's no longer my pastor and hasn't been for over 20 years.

I've learned that questioning pastors isn't a good idea.

So the first step to being accepted by and fellowshipping with trinitarian charismatics is the dropping of the standard.

Then it's just another step to "well they don't really believe in three Gods, after all it's really just semantics".

And then the use of the name of Jesus in water baptism is not as important as it used to be.

Thanks, but NO THANKS, I'll just stay over here and WATCH the train wreck.
What is the possible basis for your continued issue with facial hair? I guess noone was really saved until the '60s. Everything from Jesus to Azuza must have been wrong.

You should always be able to ask questions. Not all Pastors mind explaining things in detail. To me.. that would be major part of being a leader.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths

Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945

"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves

OP, I've had this beard now for well over 7 years, own more than one TV, and don't even have a church I attend. Guess what? I still believe in Jesus name baptism, still believe in one god, still believe in talking in tongues (as initial evidence and part of a believer's walk), still don't wear jewelry, still don't wear shorts, and still don't celebrate Christmas. Your theory is very flawed, my friend.
