i haven't been to a gc since it was in dallas in the early 80's. can't say i've missed it to be honest.
but maybe i'll try to make it to houston in '10. my brother lives there so i could hang w/him and his. maybe i could go visit ekklesia while i'm there too. and visit lois gibson.
I went to that one also! The only other one that I have been to since was New Orleans in the late 80's.

small world 'eh? i was in high school i think, just got my drivers license and spent the whole time driving around with friends from restaurant to restaurant doing the whole upc 'party' scene. haha.
don't remember much of the general sessions except that I thought they were pretty boring. had a good time cracking jokes about people at the fashion runways, a.k.a. the hallways.
i was a very respectful and spiritually minded youngster. i haven't changed a bit since then.

Sadly, I was in high school too, but I was getting ready to get married. Conference was in Oct., I think, and I got married in Nov. Tragic.

You do know that Lois isn't in Houston anymore, right? LOL!
In fact, she's not even at her new place!

I absolutely do not care if I never go to another General Conference again. I cannot imagine what God is thinking when he looks down and observes all the new outfits and time spent on the hairdo's and all that junk. Why can't people be real at General Conference?!?! It's all about the "show" for the most part and it's sickening. Don't get me started on all the time spent on begging for money before they even start church!
We were going to go considering our church school had always in past years let out for that week but this yr they changed that sooooooooooooo we have school that week and dont get to go...
You're money is better spent on an NPR pledge drive in most cases. I got to go GC in Columbus, OH in 2006 for my birthday. It's one of those things that I could say I've been to. All the pimping going during the Foreign Missions service made me uncomfortable. Parading the mssionaries to the front like orphan children begging for someone to partner with them. It was a very difficult service to sit through.
