I guess my point doesn't matter. What matters it that it spoke to you. Thanks for sharing.

Re: The Little Bird
Ah, but your point DOES matter. You see, I can read a verse of Scripture and you can read the same verse, and we each get something entirely different from it. Thats because God speaks to us in our need from His Word. As I read your story, I was reminded of how I have been feeling lately. I won't go into details, but, well, things haven't been all that good. I guess you could say I haven't seen many silver linings in the clouds lately. No light at the end of the tunnel... No "all things work for the good...". Well, you get my meaning. I guess I, like the other birds in your story, was coming to accept how things are, and not how things could be. I'd like to fly, but..., well, cage life aint so bad.
Then, I read your story. And I realized I gotta look beyond the cage (circumstances) to see the silver linings and the light at the tunnels end. I gotta remember that everything does work out for the good. And I gotta remember that God hasn't failed... and isn't about to start now.

Well, I had a reason in telling the story. My husband and I went to a place that was like a zoo and I saw a bird in a cage and this story formed in my mind. Of course it means something to me. But, if God spoke to you what you needed through it, what does the point I was making in the story (what I was thinking) matter?

Re: The Little Bird
ILG, I appreciate your story. Do you know that the word "Free" comes from the Old English word meaning to "love" or "to set free"?...
Some rather have the comfort of the cage than the freedom of the skies. A bird was made to fly but keep the wings unused and weak long enough and the creature will be unable to allow them to fulfill their purpose. Know the Son...Know the Truth and you are free...Listen to people and get your wings clipped.
John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
