Re: When one is down to nothing IS God up to somet

God is always up to something good for His children. When you lose one of the most important things in THIS life, you eventually realize that you MUST rely on God to get you through it. After you have tried everything this world has to offer. Only God can make good out of horrible things in this world.

I do think God uses events and troubles to teach us to look and depend on Him. I have a feeling that this economic crisis is one way, maybe a last ditch effort, to get our attention and turn our eyes back to God. We are living in the Laodicea age where we are rich and have need of nothing, but really we are naked and poor spiritually. America is in such a sad state, morally, where sin is accepted as an alternative lifestyle. We need to set an example as the Body of Christ for the rest of our nation. Now I will get off my soap box.

To tell you the truth,I am going through a rough time now but I realize my only hope is in The Lord, if I make it it only be because of His grace.
We must remember there is strength in the struggle,Jacob wrestled with The Lord, he came out limping but He gained something very precious in his struggle.

That is so right Br. Scott. Any trial we go through will make us stronger in some way. Even when we fail miserably, we always learn something from the trial. I know there have been times in my life that all I could do is "tie a knot and hang on", but God was always there and faithful to me.

I have heard sermons preached about "When you are down to nothing God is up to something" a lot of times. My question is this; is this the fact? When you are at the end of your rope is God there or just a loop to hang ones self? Do you know what I mean?

With all the bad things happening in the US with the economy and having too much month at the end of the money type thing it makes me wonder how bad will it get. There are 1 income families like mine that it is tough to make it, but we press on. We are tithe payers and still have problems from time to time. Others I know are in worse shape. I know hundereds of my friends that have made good choices in the past and had money all to have nothing now and losing their homes. I believe God has a plan in all this, but do you think that when we are down to nothing that God is up to something or is the ball in our court to go do something better? We have the power to obtain wealth but what expenses to we give up for wealth? Is God up to something in ones life when he or she is down to nothing? What say ye?
It is often a very difficult thing to find, know and accept the will of God. Ultimately all that really matters is our faith and trust that we are in His hands, not because of our current situation, but in spite of it.

This is why I strongly discourage equating wealth/health with God's blessing and will in my life.

Often the right path is the more difficult, and real strength found in our weakness and want.

The important thing is that we rely and trust in Him at ALL times.
