Matthew 25:46 (King James Version) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
What does everlasting mean as juxtaposed to eternal?

IN MATT.25:46 The Word eternal is AIONIOS in the Greek which means duration either undefined but not endless. It can also mean final.

So are you saying eternal life is not really eternal?

I'm just saying what Vine's dictionary has said.
Everlasting is AIONIOS and AIDIOS.AIDIOS denotes everlasting, whereas ,AINIOS should always be translated eternal ,While Ainios is the end either of a space of time ,or of unmeasured time.
My info comes from The Vines Dictionary of Old and New Testament words.

I Made a mistake in my definition as I didn't have on my reading glasses.
AINIOS describes duration either undefined or not endless or undefined because endless ,I apologize for my oversight.

I bought one of those magnification pages while at the Christian bookstore.I am
not ashamed to use it either.I take it to church in my large print bible. My husband
is too shame to use it.I bought it initially for him but since he doesn't use it I decided to get my moneys worth out of it.
