if ever visiting in Esther's home over night.....go before you go to sleep or "hold it".

do NOT get up during the night without a bullet proof vest.

Re: How would you have handled this?

so, I ran this scenario by my husband too, when I called him for his vote on MissB's situation...and he said....

"why I'd send you to check it out, of course"

I hung up on him.

LOL! My husband is both gentle and not so gentle - just like I like him.

I just don't like him when he's really mad, which doesn't happen all that often. I just haven't forgotten what he's like when he is mad. He probably hasn't forgotten what I'm like when I'm real mad either! LOL!

He has gotten up to check on a noise, but he didn't grab his gun.

Glad everything was okay, Esther!!

My husband would probably be afraid I would shoot him so he goes, and I PRAY!

Thanks. Now my friend that thinks I moved into a haunted house will go nuts IF I tell her. Should I tell her? lol

Crash!

Kick husband to wake him up, dog starts barking and husband is slow to move. He just sits in the bed, listening. He whispers what did you hear? I heard glass breaking! I whispered as quietly and calmly (right) as I could.

He finally rolls over and gets his gun hands me the dog to keep her from going with him, she is a small pom. So I held her and she was surprising quiet.

He leaves the room and quietly begans checking each room and turning on the lights and checking the closets of each room. While he is gone I'm thinking did it get so cold last night that the glass in the patio break? Did someone try and break in through the patio? Did someone break a car window? It was so close sounding to my room.

Finally he comes back to bed.

What happened?

My largest picture in my hallway fell and broke the glass.

Needless to say, I didn't go right back to sleep.

So would you have just jumped right up with your gun going to investigate?

Or would you take your chance of your final days being killed in the bed? lol
I don't own a gun, but I would definitely investigate. And then I'd immediately start in with the lecture about NOT driving nails right into the drywall to hang stuff. Either do it the way I showed you 20 years ago or just leave it - I'll get to it and hang it up for you, in a while.
