I direct every motion of your life, as the ocean bears a ship. Your will and intelligence may be at the helm, but divine providence and sovereignty are stronger forces. You can trust Me, knowing that ny pressure I bring to bear upon your life is initiated by My love, and I will not do even this except as you are willing and desire.

This morning as I read the above - tucked away in a file that I hadn't visited for ages - this Scripture which I love came to my mind so I looked it up. I really like this NLT version .......

"We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps". Proverbs 16:9

As we make our plans according to our own wisdom, desires, goals, necessity or what have you it's SO assuring that over all of that God is directing our steps. This of course is as we serve Him and seek to do His will.

We don't always need to be planning and organizing and goal setting and vision casting but it's part of human nature to do that and it isn't a bad thing to do. Careful planning is necessary to success in life. But our plans and goals and vision may not always be exactly what God has in mind for us.

We do our best based on limited finite understanding. What a comfort to know that even as we do our best and occasionally get off course we're not going to go too far astray because we are being directed by the Master Planner ..... the One who knows what's best for us and how we can be most instrumental and effective in living our lives here in this time frame and this earthly sphere.

We are here for a purpose. The only thing that matters really is fulfilling God's plan for our lives.

"Not MY will, but Thine O Lord be done!"

P.S. Dedicated to those who knowingly or unknowingly by me are searching and waiting and looking for answer and direction in regard to God's will for their own personal situations or for others.

Seems to me that we had a discussion about dishes, bone china and the Willow pattern which you said you liked back a few years ago on GNC if I remember right.

Blue Willow was a very popular pattern at one time. My mom had a set that she used for every day dishes when I was just a kid.

I have a set of Chinese dishes .... has the transparent rice pattern and it's blue and white with a bit of coral. That set of dishes was my very first purchase of anything significant after we had moved to Hong Kong. I got a "western" set - 12 place settings and that included completer pieces, but on top of that I also got the rice bowls, teapot, and soup spoons. It was a huge set and I still have it all minus one teapot cover.

I used to use it a lot at one time. Now it's just all packed in boxes.

Packed away in boxes--- I wonder what else is pack away in the boxes of our lives--- Nah that is another thread!!!! I have really enjoyed reading your "rambling" for lack of a better word. I think you have the start of a really great inspirational book. I would like to save some and use them at a future speaking date.

I emailed the poem "God's box" to several special friends. One is dying with cancer, one just lost a dad to suicide, several have gone though difficult divorces, and others that have just been banged up by life. I pray it will help them put things in prospective.
