Re: Proof about Water Baptism

Appreciate the comments but my opponent was trying to show that there was no mentioning of water in the verses we use for water baptism..He says we assume it means water..

I hope you are not moved by the argument. Your opponent is distorting the truth.

Re: Proof about Water Baptism

ApostolicTexas, just take the bible as a whole and let God reveal his truth to you. You said in the beginning that your experience has led you to believe Acts 2:38 as the plan of salvation. Please be careful when trying to bring your personal experiences into bible interpretation. Often times we are influenced into our "experience" by those around us who want us to have the same experience that they had.

Here is an article from an exUPC pastor and teacher at an Apostolic Bible college.

You have destroyed the WORK of Jesus for a false doctrine.

uh no... Jesus, James, John are pretty clear on this. Even Paul is pretty clear in this as well. The problem Baron is you are stuck on Reformed doctrine that is about as false as it gets. There is a difference between "justice" of which God gives due to the atonement and righteousness which is judged by God of which you are either counted worthy or not.

The promise of eternal life is not different than that of Abraham and him being judged righteous due to his obedience in which the promises of God became a reality! To coming into covenant and staying in covenan are two different things. Jesus was very clear about our status with him is based on our response to him and his law just like Abraham. Which is a faith by works reality!

THe work of Christ is realized when you walk as he walked by the leading of his Spirit and fulfill his will/law!

WHen you quote John MacArthur as proof of doctrine.... you have lost all credibility to me. Talk about false doctrine of grace. WOW! Nothing new in his teaching that has not been spouted by someone else. Still weak!

Luke, your love to jump up and down about false doctrine but what exactly are you calling false. It is hard to argue with a strawman argument.
