Preacher believes in Wine but NO MEDICINE??

This is taking from another conversation - the source I will never name. This topic strikes a nerve with me. I had a Uncle who was a preacher and died at age 34 BECAUSE he was taught it was a sin to take medicine.

JESUS asked a question one time, he asked, "nevertheless when the son of man returns shall he find faith in the earth? I am just trying to point out something that needs to be addressed, discussed and prayed over. GOD said, "cursed be the man that put his trust in man". Isn't going to doctors and taking medicine trusting in man? What did they do in JESUS day, pray or die? Why are we so afraid of death? I believe we should pray and obey the WORD and fast and seek GOD and after that, GOD's will be done...It is the only answer in the BIBLE that I see...
