The questions are this: As a Lib or Mod, can you financially support a conservative missionary or church? Can you support a conservative church with your presence? Can you worship with a conservative congregation? Can you refer to a conservative brother or sister as Brother or Sister? Can you regularly attend a conservative church? Can you have lunch with a conservative person without the conversation turning into argument over the views that you disagree with them on?

Just askin.... Oh, my answers will come later....
As a Moderate I will answer
Missionary? It depends on the missionary and what "conservative" means...if it means being a little more strict when it comes to appearances? Sure

If it means being so dogmati that they condemn everyone to hell for not holding their standards...or are the kind of persons that themselves want to divide over the issues? Probably not

Sis Alvear is pretty conservative but she is not like that and if I had more money I would gladly support them

Support with my presence or worship with them? Sure, but again that might depend more on them. Will I or my church or pastor be their favorite target for sunday night sermons? Will the treat me like a backslider?

The bigger issue is actually will THEY be willing to worship with us.

See I know of a church that is told NOT to fellowship those other Oneness churches across town. Even then they were UPC they were discouraged from attending sectional meetings

  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Agreed, Prax.

By "here" in my previous post I meant physical location between the north and south pole, not on this board. Where is that edit button when I need it??

Re: As a lib or mod, can you....

Thank you all for your answers. No reason for asking, just curious. I appreciate the attitude most, if not all, expressed here. Like Sis Missionary, I have been on the conservative side in years past. But, sadly, I failed the Lord and spent alot of time away from Him. It was during that time, though, that I began studying the Word, independant of church doctrine, articles of faith and manuals. I discovered many truths that I never heard in Con churches. Don't get me wrong- I appreciate my roots, and I owe a debt of gratitude to the pastors I sat under back in my con days. My views have moderated, and now, I am more moderate. A fence straddling moderate, I guess some would say.

My answers: Yes. to all. Of course that comes with the quaifier that, if my fellowship, my support is welcomed, then yes, I can and do fellowship, and do support con churches and ministries.

So, again, thanks all for responding.
