Re: Please keep my daughter in your prayers today.
It's not as painful today-- and for that, we are thankful. She still can't open the left eye yet because of all the swelling (which was expected). At least at this point, there isn't any bruising-- she was dreading the thoughts of having a black, purple and blue eye. Hopefully she won't experience the bruising--but that remains to be seen.
The surgeon called today to check on her, and said that based on what I had told him she is doing very well following the surgery.
There has been no bleeding, which allowed for a switch from Tylenol & Lortab to Ibuprofen-- which should help more with reducing the swelling.
This experience has done one thing-- and that's made her appreciate her eyesight she does have in the right eye, even more. Since yesterday, she's been sitting or laying around with her eyes closed to help rest the eye that the surgery was done on. She told me earlier this evening, she'd never realized before that just about everything that she enjoys doing requires her to be able to see. After doing nothing fun today except listening to her IPod--and accepting a few phone calls from concerned friends-- I believe she will have a new appreciation for her eyesight.
