Thankyou Sister Falla!
Bro. Raven,
Haven't heard that old song in many years. Used to hear our late parents
sing it around the house. Many of those old songs had a message. Thanks
for the memory!

Oh, the Word of God is right, Hallelujah to the Lamb
It'll make you live upright, Hallelujah to the Lamb
The Word of God is right, Halelujah to the Lamb
Hallelujah to the Lamb!

Re: My Message For The New Year!

Our youngest son's wife told me this morning that they had started to study
the Bible together, as a family.

We had given each of our six adult children a dramatized, KJV of the Old &
New Testaments on DVD for Christmas. Unlike the dramatized Bible on CD,
we gave them a few yrs ago, you not only see the words but hear them read
aloud also.

Our daughter in law said they were playing the DVD of the Bible last night,
and from time to time they paused it. Their little (just turned 4 yr old) son
was playing on the floor. She said they didn't expect his attention span to
be very long. But three times they paused the sound, he immediately said,
"Don't turn it off!".

If a DVD reading the Bible can interest a little 4 yr. old, what should it do for
our teenagers. If we wait until they are older, they may not be interested as
the world desires to pull our young people into its mold.We must be wise as
serpents and harmless as doves!

We shouldn't attempt to "assume" what little children like and don't like and what will or will not hold their attention.

A number of years ago I heard Roger Ebert (the movie critic) talking about being at a families house for a holiday and a silent movie happened to be on the television in the corner. He was amazed that the kids were completely transfixed by it since he thought they would be incapable (INCONCEIVABLE! as Hoovie would say) of watching since they are exposed daily to computer generated cartoons, video games, technology, and flashing everything. But there they were watching some black and white silent romance -it wasn't even comedy!

Children are very interested in many things these days. When I heard some
little kids telling "Santa" what they wanted for Christmas, most were computer
games, many of the violent kind. Because children are so impressionable, we
as parents and grandparents must be very wise as too what we encourage our
little ones to have. Would we give our children or grandchildren what they
WANT or what we know to be good for them. God gave children parents be-
cause they NEEDED them. Not for the children to TELL the parents what they
want!
Parents are told in the Word of God to train up a child in the way they SHOULD
go and when they are old/older, they will not depart from it.

Isn't it the responsibility of the grandparents to give the grandchildren everything they want... and let the parents deal with the aftermath? LOL

LOL!!! RandyWayne,
That was not the way it was in our family. I thank God that's not the
way it was.

Blessings,

Re: My Message For The New Year!

Hi Falla39, thanks for the Bible DVD, it is a valued gift, it was so thoughtful of you to send us both a copy. As Iva & I have such varied schedules one each was very thoughtful, we can each watch in our own time. I have set mine up in my home office on a portable DVD player on a second desk so it will always be ready and all I have to do is turn it on. I intend to spend at least an hour per night, more some nights, and I'll set Iva's up on another portable player she has upstairs so she can do the same thing. For me this is extra special as I have only been in the church for two years, and have never read the whole bible, although I have taken bible studies in these past two years. I can now read and see the whole thing, from beginning to end, and enjoy it, thank you so much for the thoughful gift, it is a treasure! And hey, even if your grandchildren are older, the WORD will be just as exciting, I'm 58, and it's the most exciting gift I have had since I was a kid, and I watched/listened to the first of Genesis tonught, can't wait until tomorrow to listen to more.
God Bless you for helping me in my walk with The Lord.
Bro. Peter
