Yeah... I like the menu at NBC better than this one.

And... isn't it supposed to be red koolaid rather than grape?

Yeah I went over to a friends house and he was cooking chitilins. Just being in the same room made my mouth feel like I was chewing tin foil.

Never tasted them... never want to.

Is it offensive? I don't think so, but I can't really say. I would remind people that it's a cafeteria, so considering that and the month ... I dunno. I wouldn't be insulted if there was a white history month with a sign for hamburgers and hot dogs or steak and baked potato.

It's funny it happened to NBC.

Just think what would've happened if it happened to, let's say, FoxNews!

If it had happened at Fox News, it would have been "the end of the world" almost.

To be honest, I just wish stuff like this wouldn't happen.

You mean having fried chicken sometime during black history month or someone making a big deal out of it?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: NBC Cafeteria Celebrates Black History Month W

It's the whole uber-PC thing that even makes this an issue. What if this same menu was the feature on March 1? No big deal then and no tie-ins to specific cultural and racial sensitivities.

Reading the Tweet comments, I get the idea that not all African Americans even "get it." It just goes to show, even after having elected an African-American as President (sort of African-American - he's as much Caucasian Kansas farm boy as he is African) America is still not into a "Post Race" phase. We should all be more like the African Americans who Tweeted stuff like, "But I like fried chicken!" I like fried chicken myself - if it's fresh and done right!

You're right about the double standard. At NBC is was "an oversight." At Fox it would have been "The Klan's there at Fox!"

Hypocrites.

People of all races in America will probably take the opportunity to enjoy fried chicken at least one time in their life.

There are people of all races who loves fried chicken.

That being said, the stereotype about black folks, fried chicken and watermelons is a negative stereotype that was born during a time of hatred, by people who were hateful.

So to serve fried chicken tomorrow, February whatever, is nothing.

To HONOR Black History Month with fried chicken and/or watermelon reflects very poorly on the manners of the person(s) who made that decision.

It wasn't done on accident. It was just a stupid thing to do.
