Those two facts alone tell me something was not right with her. She had some other activities going on in her life and did not want to have to live up to a standard of living required by a ministers wife.
You will never convince me that that man did the things she said he did. The trial was all about the actions of a dead man and not the woman who killed him. Shame on the justice system!
"Winkler had been charged with first-degree murder, but jurors convicted her of the lesser charge after she testified that her husband abused her and demanded sex she considered unnatural.
She was given a three-year sentence but had to serve only 67 days in custody because of credit for time in jail before her trial, the nature of the offense and the fact that she had no previous criminal record. Under the terms of her sentence, she spent 12 days in jail and the rest of the time in a mental health facility. "

This is one of the most grevious miscarriages of justice I have ever witnessed. There was not one iota of evidence that her husband ever abused her in any way.
There was plenty of evidence that she had put her family in a terrible situation through being taken in by one of those Nigerian internet scams. She had lost thousands of dollars, had overdrawn the family bank account by thousands of dollars, was kiting checks to try and cover that, etc, etc.
She knew that it was all about to come down around her and OF COURSE her husband was going to be or was furious at that situation. The laslt thing a pastor in a small town needs is his bank account overdrawn by thousands of dollars.
She "snapped" under all this pressure and shot and killed her husband in cold blood while he slept.
She deserved the death penalty and if not that at least life in prison with no possibility of parole.
I know that she will get her just reward some day but I hope that mystical concept of "karma" comes into play and she does not enjoy her freedom.
