Re: Who's Your Mentor?

My mentors have changed through the years. My dad was my first mentor. He was my pastor and my first boyfriend also! I followed him and took everything he said for gospel. My mom was also in there somewhere, but as much as I love her still to this day, I looked to my dad more.

When I went to TBC there were two ladies there that impacted me through their lives. It was the way they walked, talked and sat. Judy Keating and Barbara Johnson, I still love BOTH of them so much.

My next mentor was my ex mother in law. She helped mold me become the person I am today. I love you still Margaret.

At this time, I do not have a mentor. I do not have someone that I can go to and speak to about different issues. (BFF's do not count)

Re: Who's Your Mentor?

I guess my mother has been more of a mentor to me than anyone. She is Catholic, drinks a periodic glass of wine and votes Democrat. I did not talk to her about anything when I was in the church. And, I learned some things then that we will always disagree on. But, when I needed someone to talk to about the lawsuit and the other things....when I realized the district board would just as soon sacrifice me to Baal than help me out after giving my life to the church....she was there. She has always been there waiting for me and I am thankful for that.

Same here, Sam. I'm just too independent in my thinking to please anyone, mentor or otherwise.

Re: Who's Your Mentor?

I have a beautiful mentor relationship (myself as the mentee).

Instead of mentoring though, I use the word discipleship.

Re: Who's Your Mentor?

My parents and paternal grandmother, were my first mentors in that they "trained me up in
the way that I should go". As a result, I came to Christ! HE has been my PERSONAL MENTOR
for many years. There is NOTHING I cannot talk to HIM about! I keep no secrets from HIM!
I love Him SO MUCH! I can love everyone, BUT JESUS CHRIST IS MY MENTOR! HE IS THE ONE
AND ONLY KNOW IT ALL! Makes for a GREAT MENTOR!
