You are much more of a theologian than I am, however I do have a question.
What I have always been taught and read would lead me to believe that what Christ did on the Cross, grants me salvation.
There is no work of mine that can grant me salvation.
However, additional power with God results from following after him with my entire being.
Am I on a wrong track here, in your opinion?

What about fasting that is something you can do to affect power with God, don't you think?

In other news, some of the younger Trouts seem to have had a change of mind on such matters.[/QUOTE]

That is what I am familiar with from my Dad's church and was shocked that the white Apostolic sisters were in darkness concerning head covering for women, once I started attending UPCI churches.

You cannot forget that fact that many black women straighten their hair with chemicals and it breaks off after a certain length.
Jamacians and Islanders wear hats. There is a church of 800 in Miami that is Apostolic, they started their own work from the UPCI work I grew up in. Its wall to wall hats.

Re: Black Apostolic Hair blog touts Stoneking and
First of all, I think it's really cool that the author of the blog is growing her hair out naturally and demonstrating how it can be done without trimming, if you take care of your hair throughout the growth process. That's a big trend among some secular [black] groups anyway. (Going au naturel with their hair.)
Secondly, it's disheartening to see the extra-biblical HMH doctrine spread around, and used as a prop to help women feel better about their long hair, and to motivate them to keep it uncut. *sigh*
