Re: Iranian Pastor Sentenced to Death
Maybe the definition of "Christian" really does embrace everyone who calls upon the Name of the Lord....
Are we looking "their" way?
If this guy was a Mormon, would we be so concerned?

Re: Iranian Pastor Sentenced to Death
In my opinion Jesus addressed this himself, when his disciples boasted about forbidding others to use his name.
I can't think of the scripture reference and I am not where I can look it up!

I remember that scripture.
Basically, if we are not against Him, then we are for Him.
If that scripture applies here, why not in other circumstances?

Re: Iranian Pastor Sentenced to Death
I try to apply this to my life.
Not that I do not believe that I have "the truth".
But we need to remember that others who also believe on Jesus, even though we do not think they have the full truth, are not the enemy.
Hopefully, they are true seekers and we can witness and bring them into the full knowledge of the truth.

If I may ask, what is "the truth" that others do not have?

... and when we fail to do so, they end up dying and going to hell because they died not being Apostolic.
So is this non-Apostolic Iranian Pastor's best chance at Heaven execution for the Sonship of Jesus Christ, or is he lost regardless because of his embrace of a false gospel?

Re: Iranian Pastor Sentenced to Death
I am not the final judge of who makes it into Heaven, thankfully.
I am responsible for how I conduct myself and what I do with my knowledge of the scriptures.
I will have no problem if I show up in heaven and those who did not follow the same doctrine I followed are there.
By the same token, I do definitely believe that doctrine matters and there is only one narrow road to get to heaven.

So will you pray for this man-- for Divine protection, so that he can continue to spread his false doctrine?
Should we pray for God to move on the behalf of false prophets?
If he is not in the truth anyway, what's it to an Apostolic-- one less person leading other sincere souls to hell.
