Do they have car chargers? It would be a good investment if they don't.
My phone stays charged for about 2-3 days without a recharge if I just use it for texts and emergencies-not to talk and not for internet-and turn it off during the night. If I'm without power longer than that, I can take it to the library or a local office or church and they'll usually let me recharge there.
Edit: heehee I didn't read the whole thread before I posted.

Hmmm... never thought of using the inverters that way. Great idea.

Sorry, been contending with feet of snow. Hope things aren't as bad as they're predicted... and that you and your kids don't get the tornadoes.

Well, if we all blow away we might land in a 48" snow drift! And yes I heard "up to 48" drifts" because of the 30 40 mph wind gusts.

Being in a "Rain Shadow" we just get a bitterly cold dusting while most folks get buried in snow. It's when y'all are warm and dry that we get the "Up-slope" conditions and the moisture that our reservoirs desperately need. Still, they've cancelled school tomorrow around here already.

Every church should have a plan to keep warm. I've decieded to invite the several high ranking officials. With all of that hot air, who needs the furnace!

Sheesh. Just today, my son shoveled a couple of feet off the deck. I wonder how much we'll get here. We've had more snow this year than I've seen in many years.
