As opposed to the Harlot we read about in Chapter 17.
Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Why does the Bible close with a comparison of two women?
Why did the writer want us to know that the harlot was decked with gold?
Why do people think adornment is not important?
If you wear Jewelry, are you concerned that the Bride of Christ was without Jewelry?
And for those of you that think I am only concerned about the outward appearance, is it just a coincidence that the harlot (adorned with all that jewelry) also was named as a fornicator, unrighteous, etc.?
I thought Jewelry was a deterrent to fornication according to the Geniuses that were posting on the wedding ring thread?
Last but not least, do you dress like the harlot or the bride? Is your spirit like the harlot or the Bride?
Looks to me like a bad spirit, an unholy heart, and a jewelry wearer go together.
Any thoughts?

Is it also wrong to wear purple or scarlot?

That is your answer? Why don't you do a purple and scarlet study and start your own thread? What say you about Jewelry?

They didn't.
Please, learn context. Study biblical history.
The double standards surrounding this issue just make my teeth itch.
Most of my jewelry comes from Target and costs about $10. I have a colorful necklace that I wear with one outfit. I was going to a shindig where there would be a lot of Pentecostals and was planning to wear that outfit. Not wanting to offend, I wasn't going to wear the necklace. But the outfit looked plain to me without it. I had an idea - I could have taken that necklace, laid it around the edge of the neckline, tacked it on with some thread so that it looked like it was part of the dress, and VOILA! No more sin, no more offense.
Or I could have taken the necklace and used it as a headband on my hair and slid right on into heaven.
Those big honkin' feathers everyone wears in their hair or on their clothes are so much more "adorning" than a simple gold chain around your neck, but one's legal, one isn't.
The inconsistencies just set my teeth on edge.

That was part of the verse that you used. Why focus on only part of that verse?
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
How can you possibly focus on the jewelry aspect of it and ignore the color aspect? Why would you do that?
The same thing is done to the verses that include costly array and elaborate hairdos. Pick your pet doctrine out of it, and ignore the rest.

I'll let you do your own study and thread about the other stuff. What say you about Jewelry in Revelation 17?

Apparently the writer of Revelation is the legalist, he didn't mention anything about feathers. He did say a lot about Jewelry, what say you?

The wearing of Jewelry in Revelation 17 is just a pet doctrine, not big deal??
