Yes, he can do that. But is that a compelling reason to re-elect him?

electing obama will ensure republicans don't repeal obamacare, don't privatise social security, undo medicare etc. yes reelecting obama is worth it to save all the programs for the poor.

It would also wreck the economy and put EVERYBODY in the poor house.
Not to mention other nations taking over as the new world powers.

Re: Name the Compelling Reasons to Reelect Obama

I can't think of any reason to reelect him myself.

Personally I like The Constitution party over the big two.A Black President is fine with me.

I agree. As long as he is elected because of his qualifications. Not because he is black. (That's how Barrack Hussein Obama became president.)

except for needed spending cuts, it is about protecting status quo from radical republican change. thank god for the filabuster in case obama loses. we won't see radical change. we don't need it. the system isn't designed for it.

republicans would be better off if they weren't proposing radical change, but u have to veer to the right in the primaries and that kills them. democrats lose if they veer too far left.
You want to continue to tax the rich? Are you kidding me? They are the job providers.
Stop taxing the rich so they can start hiring folks again.

It's crazy to think blacks or anyone else that voted for him wouldn't have voted for an identical white man over John McCain. Think about that.

Also consider: even if he did get some votes because he was black he also lost some votes because he was black. Do you have evidence that he gained more votes than he lost due to his race or is it just guess work?

OK, I live in Ohio. Ohio was the state that put BHO into office.

Here are some things I personally saw/experienced:

1. A Charismatic/Apostolic (African American pastor and congregation) church in our neighborhood has a separate building for church offices. They covered up the church sign in front of that building and put up a large sign as an Elect Barack Obama headquarters. They registered (black) voters and collected their absentee ballots.

2. There are about 20,000 people in our city. It is called Forest Park and is about 15 miles or so north of Cincinnati. Our population according to the 2000 census was about 56 percent African American and about 35 percent White. I don't know what the 2010 census numbers are. I only know of 3 houses with john McCain signs in our city for the 2008 election. There may have been more but I only know of three. All these signs were either vandalized or destroyed. One was on our street. I used to work with the man who lives there. Their sign was vandalized or knocked down a couple of times and then destroyed. One man on a street which our street runs into had his sign damaged a couple of times so he took it down and gave it to someone else who does not live here. Another man had two signs in his yard. He lives about a block from me. His signs did survive until election day but they had holes punched in them.

3. Recorded phone calls from Michelle Obama targeted us to be sure and "vote early" because "that's the only way we can make sure my husband wins this election."

3. A representative from "the union" went door to door to collect early ballots. When she came to our house she knew my name and the name of my wife and wanted to have us vote early so she could turn our ballots in for us. The representative was a young African American woman and was very pleasant but I refused to let her enter our home and talk to us and collect ballots from us.

If being a minority is a reason, then let us all elect a satanist as our next president, satanists are definitely a minority.

I guess Mormons would be a minority also and we have a couple of them running for the Republican nomination. We also have one woman and one African American running for the Republican nomination. I don't know if we have a GLBT running or not. Wouldn't any of these count as a minority?
