If I had ever had a card, I would not be likely to have it now.

Re: Reminder-- 'Tis the Season
I suppose that any church system who has a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status would be considered a corporate entity.

The truth about that is that churches don't have the 501 c to be tax exempt.
But I think incorporated churches would be a corporate entity.

That is the truth Bro. Scott. I often wonder why the Pastors of organized religion chose to put their church system and it's people into the framework of a corporate entity? Call the worshippers "members" like they were in some sort of club.

Re: Reminder-- 'Tis the Season
This statement in the "hush money" link you provided is very telling of where the church stands in the free nation of America today. Gee...this is a tactic that was tried many centuries ago. Who would have thought it would be our generation that succumbed to state favors over God granted sovereignty of His church? This is just more proof that churches have become more like corporate businesses than they are emissaries of Christ.
"Rome persecuted the Christians not for Who they worshipped. Rome had hundreds of deities, and they could care less who or what you worshipped, as long as you were "licit" (licensed). The church was persecuted not because they worshipped Jesus Christ, but because of the manner in which they functioned -- an ecclesia. The church was declared to be "illicit," and held in a state of "civil disobedience," because of their refusal to incorporate. Why did the church refuse incorporation? Largely because they knew that it would destroy their testimony that Jesus Christ is "Lord" and "Sovereign."

Re: Reminder-- 'Tis the Season
In 2 Chronicles chapter 12 it tells how the enemy came in and took away the shields of gold from the house of the Lord, so, in order to maintain "appearances" the king hung up shields of brass.
When the enemy comes in and steals away the glory and power of God, in order to maintain "appearances" some preachers/organizations/politicians require "dress code holiness" (some times called "Apostolic Identity."
