Sherri, it was indeed a privilege to reconnect with you and Eddie. I didn't start a thread for fear people might figure out who you are on here and your anonymity would be compromised...

Wow, I didn't know Memphis had any other delicacies! I should be back in the Memphis area probably mid to late June or early July and will get in touch with you when my plans are firmed up.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

There's a great little place called Humdingers in Cordova that feeds you grilled vegetables like asparagus, zucchini, mushrooms... instead of fatty fries for a side dish. That is a delicacy compared to the choices I have here.

Re: I Got To See Pianoman!

Go north on Germantown Parkway (177) until you get to Cordova. There will be a little shopping center called either Germantown Plaza or Germantown Square. Look for Macon Road and turn right. There will be a large Malco Theater there and Humdinger's is close by. The grilled zucchini is really good. I also like the grilled asparagus but the stems get kind of tough. They sprinkle some kind of seasoning on it when they grill.

They have different kinds of fish sandwiches. I get to where I do not like meat much anymore and fish is my choice of protein right now.
